Morning Hatha yoga class in Rishikesh by the Ganga

Yoga by the Ganga

Sessions run on the open deck at Himalayan Ganga Retreat in Shivpuri, about 16 km upstream from the main Rishikesh ghats. The river is right there. So is the silence.

Three formats, taught by Yogacharya Prakash, who has trained in Rishikesh and Mysore for fifteen years. Morning Hatha (asana, pranayama, short meditation), sunset flow (gentle vinyasa), or a pure 45 minute meditation sit. Beginners are the rule, not the exception.

Two ways to book. If you’re staying at Himalayan Ganga Retreat, sessions slot into your stay – one a day is included, more on request. If you’re staying elsewhere in Rishikesh, you can book a standalone session. Tell us where you’re based and we’ll set it up.

Three formats

Pick one, or stack them across your stay.

01

Frequently asked questions

I’ve never done yoga. Is this for me?
Yes. Sessions are built around beginners. Prakash adjusts every pose to your body and never pushes past what feels safe.
Is this a religious experience?
No. Classes are rooted in classical Hatha yoga but they’re secular and accessible to guests of any background. No chanting required, no rituals to follow.
Can I book without staying at Himalayan Ganga Retreat?
Yes. Standalone sessions are available for guests staying elsewhere in Rishikesh. WhatsApp +91 9528730156 with your dates and where you are staying, and we’ll set it up.
Can I book a longer retreat?
Yes. For guests staying three nights or more we can build a mini-retreat: morning yoga, afternoon meditation, village walks, and sattvic meals. Ask us and we’ll design it.
What about a private one-on-one?
Available for an additional fee. Useful for specific injuries, therapeutic work, or post-illness recovery. Book in advance.
What does it cost?
Sessions are included once a day for guests of Himalayan Ganga Retreat. For standalone bookings, WhatsApp +91 9528730156 with your dates and group size for current rates.
