A two room village house about eight km out of Mussoorie, on its own, with the valley in front of it
This is the smallest and newest listing on the Pahadi House list. Two rooms in a village house about eight km out of Mussoorie, standing on its own with the valley in front of it, run by Sunil Singh and his family. The rooms are panelled in reclaimed wood, with low beds and painted walls. Food is cooked in the house from whatever the garden gives.
There are no Google reviews yet, and the family sent two photographs when they registered, so this page is shorter than the others. The location is checked, the Rs 1,500 rate comes from Sunil, and the family lives on site. Kempty Falls is about five km and Mussoorie about eight.
It is not a hotel room on Mall Road and it is not trying to be. It is a village house eight km out where very little happens, with home cooked food and a view, at roughly a third of what the town charges.

The point of this one is that it is out of Mussoorie. Kempty Falls is five km and the town is eight. In between there is a village, a valley and not a great deal else, which for a certain kind of trip is exactly the appeal.
Drive to Dehradun, up to Mussoorie, and carry on about eight km along the Kempty road. By train, Dehradun is the railhead and it is roughly an hour and a half by taxi from there, and Jolly Grant is the nearest airport at about two and a half hours. The last stretch is hill road. Send your arrival time on WhatsApp and Sunil will tell your driver where to pull in, because the house is on its own and not easy to describe from a map pin alone.
Darshan Village Stay is a village house eight km along the Kempty road from Mussoorie. A room is Rs 1,500 and there is nobody else around. Mussoorie itself is expensive and busy, and both get worse between April and June, which is most of why anybody drives out this far to sleep.
The house has two rooms, panelled in reclaimed wood with low beds, and it stands on its own rather than in a row. In front of it the ground drops into the valley, with the mountains behind and forest around. Sunil Singh and his family live there and cook what you eat, using vegetables from their own garden.
This property registered with Pahadi House in August 2026. No Google reviews, no website, two photographs. The location is checked against Google Maps and the price and room count come from the owner. Everything else on this page is a road distance. When the family sends more photographs the gallery will grow.
Darshan Village Stay is a partner homestay on the Pahadi House list, not a property we run. The enquiry goes straight to Sunil, so you are talking to the person who will host you. If you run a homestay in the hills and want to be on this list, it is free to register.
To check dates, message the family at +91 75792 22758.
Send your dates on WhatsApp and Sunil will come back with a rate and directions to the house.
