Welcome to Pahadi House. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (www.pahadihouse.com), booking of accommodation, and participation in experiences across all our properties in Uttarakhand, India.

By making a booking, using our website, or staying at any Pahadi House property, you agree to these Terms in full. Please read them carefully.

1. About Pahadi House

Pahadi House operates curated eco-conscious mountain stays and experiences at the following locations:

• Himalayan Ganga Retreat — Rattapani, Neelkanth Road, Rishikesh
• Kanatal — Tehri Garhwal District (8,500 ft)

2. Booking & Reservations

2.1 How to Book

Bookings can be made through:

2.2 Booking Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed only when:

• You receive a written confirmation (email or WhatsApp) from our team
• The required advance payment or deposit has been received

An enquiry or request does not constitute a confirmed booking.

2.3 Booking on Behalf of Others

If you book on behalf of another person or group, you are responsible for ensuring that all members of the group are aware of and agree to these Terms.

2.4 Minimum Age

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. Guests under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

3. Pricing & Payment

3.1 Pricing

• All prices on our website are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are per person per night unless stated otherwise
• Prices include applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless explicitly stated otherwise
• Prices are subject to change without prior notice. The price applicable to your booking is the one confirmed at the time of booking
• Seasonal pricing and special packages may apply during peak seasons and festivals

3.2 What’s Included

Each property has specific inclusions (meals, activities, amenities). These are clearly listed on the respective stay page and in your booking confirmation. If you are unsure about what’s included, please ask before booking.

3.3 Payment Methods

We accept:

• UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm)
• Bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS)
• Cash (at the property, for balance payments)
• Online payments via payment gateway (where available)

3.4 Advance Payment

• A non-refundable advance (typically 25–50% of the total booking amount) is required to confirm your booking
• The balance amount is due on or before arrival, unless agreed otherwise
• Exact advance requirements will be communicated at the time of booking

4. Check-in & Check-out

4.1 Timings

Timings may vary by season. Your confirmation will specify the applicable times.

4.2 Early Check-in / Late Check-out

Subject to availability. Early check-in or late check-out may incur additional charges. Please request at least 24 hours in advance.

4.3 Identification

All guests are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in:

• Indian nationals: Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Passport
• Foreign nationals: Valid Passport (mandatory for C-Form filing with FRRO)

Guests unable to present valid identification may be denied check-in. No refund will be provided in such cases.

5. Accommodation & Services

5.1 Room / Tent Allocation

Specific room or tent allocation is subject to availability and at the discretion of Pahadi House management. While we make every effort to honour preferences, we cannot guarantee specific units.

5.2 Meals

• Meals included in your booking are typically breakfast and dinner (MAPAI plan) unless stated otherwise
• Meal timings are fixed and will be shared during check-in
• Special dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, allergies) should be communicated at least 48 hours before arrival
• Outside food is generally not permitted in dining areas

5.3 Property Variations

Each Pahadi House property is unique in character:

• George Everest Camping features tents with shared/common washrooms and is an eco-camp in a natural setting
• Himalayan Ganga Retreat offers Swiss tents, cottages, and Maharaja cottages with attached facilities, AC, and modern amenities
• Kanatal is an offbeat mountain stay — details specific to the property will be shared during booking

Please review property descriptions carefully before booking to understand the level of facilities available.

6. Guest Conduct

Pahadi House is rooted in mindful, eco-conscious living. We ask all guests to respect this ethos:

6.1 General Behaviour

• Treat fellow guests, staff, and local community members with respect and courtesy
• Follow all instructions from Pahadi House staff, especially regarding safety
• Respect quiet hours (typically 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at all properties

6.2 Alcohol & Smoking

• Consumption of alcohol is permitted at designated areas only and in moderation
• Smoking is strictly prohibited inside tents, rooms, cottages, and dining areas
• Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas — please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly
• Guests must not bring or consume illegal substances on any Pahadi House property

6.3 Environmental Responsibility

• Do not litter. Please use waste bins and follow waste segregation guidelines
• Do not pluck flowers, damage trees, or disturb wildlife
• Carry reusable water bottles — we discourage single-use plastics
• Follow “Leave No Trace” principles, especially at George Everest Camping and Kanatal

6.4 Right to Refuse or Remove

Pahadi House reserves the right to refuse service or ask guests to leave — without refund — if their behaviour is:

• Disruptive, aggressive, or threatening to other guests or staff
• Causing damage to property, nature, or local environment
• In violation of these Terms or local laws

7. Liability

7.1 Personal Belongings

Pahadi House is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, valuables, or equipment during your stay. Guests are advised to keep valuables secure at all times.

7.2 Property Damage

Guests are liable for any damage caused to Pahadi House property (tents, furniture, equipment, fixtures) during their stay. Repair or replacement costs will be charged to the guest.

7.3 Health & Fitness

• Pahadi House properties are located at altitudes ranging from sea level to 8,500 ft. Guests should assess their own physical fitness and health before booking
• Guests with pre-existing medical conditions (heart conditions, respiratory issues, severe allergies) should consult a doctor before travelling
• Pahadi House is not liable for health issues arising from altitude, weather, or individual medical conditions

7.4 Adventure Activities

• Adventure activities (river rafting, trekking, rock climbing, zip-lining, rappelling, etc.) are facilitated by Pahadi House but operated by licensed third-party adventure providers
• Participation in adventure activities is entirely voluntary and at your own risk
• Guests must read and agree to the separate Guest Safety & Activity Disclaimer before participating
• Pahadi House is not liable for injuries, accidents, or incidents during third-party operated activities

7.5 Natural Environment

Pahadi House properties are situated in natural mountain environments. We are not liable for:

• Insects, wildlife encounters, or natural fauna presence
• Weather disruptions (rain, fog, snow, storms, extreme temperatures)
• Road conditions, landslides, or access difficulties due to weather or season
• Power outages or water supply interruptions in remote locations
• Changes to visibility, views, or natural scenery due to weather or seasonal variation

7.6 Internet & Connectivity

Internet and mobile connectivity at mountain locations may be limited or intermittent. We offer WiFi at Himalayan Ganga Retreat (subject to connectivity) but do not guarantee internet availability at George Everest Camping or Kanatal.

8. Force Majeure

Pahadi House shall not be liable for any failure to perform obligations under these Terms due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, landslides, avalanches)
• Severe weather conditions
• Epidemics, pandemics, or health emergencies
• Government orders, restrictions, or curfews
• Political unrest, strikes, or bandhs
• Road closures or infrastructure failures

In such cases, we will:

• Offer alternative dates (subject to availability) OR
• Provide a full refund of the amount paid

9. Intellectual Property

• All content on the Pahadi House website — including text, photographs, videos, logos, design, and brand elements — is the property of Pahadi House
• You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from our website without prior written permission
• Guest-submitted reviews and testimonials may be used by Pahadi House for marketing purposes (with consent as indicated at the time of submission)

10. Third-Party Links & Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites and services (Google Maps, TripAdvisor, booking platforms, social media). These are provided for convenience only:

• Pahadi House does not endorse or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party websites
• Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies

11. Cancellation & Refund

Cancellation and refund terms are detailed in our separate Cancellation & Refund Policy. By making a booking, you agree to those terms.

12. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described therein.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India
• Any disputes arising from these Terms or your stay at Pahadi House shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand
• We encourage guests to contact us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal legal action

14. Changes to These Terms

Pahadi House reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be:

• Published on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date
• Communicated to guests with active bookings if changes affect their reservation

Your continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
