Rhododendron forest hikes — the trails turn crimson and pink
As the snow retreats, the forests come alive. Rhododendron blooms carpet the trails in crimson and pink, and the mountain air carries birdsong from every ridge.

Every activity is led by locals who grew up on these hills — trails, rapids, kitchens, and skies you won’t find on a package tour.

ExploreEvery experience is led by someone who grew up in these mountains — not a hired guide reading a script. They know the trails by instinct, the birds by sound, and the stories by heart.
We keep groups small (max 8–10 people), stick to established trails, and practice Leave No Trace principles. The mountains give us everything — we take nothing back.
Our experiences aren’t performances. When you cook pahadi food, you cook with the family. When you walk a village, you enter a home. This is participation, not observation.
Experiences aren’t add-ons — they’re part of the rhythm of your stay. Wake up, trek, cook, stargaze, sleep. The experience is the stay.
As the snow retreats, the forests come alive. Rhododendron blooms carpet the trails in crimson and pink, and the mountain air carries birdsong from every ridge.
Cool pine-scented mornings, hidden waterfalls roaring back to life, and the long blue skies before the monsoon rolls in.
The Ganges swells with snowmelt and rain. Grade III–IV rapids run at their wildest, and the valleys are cloaked in swirling mist.
Autumn brings the rare Mussoorie winterline — a false horizon that glows orange at dusk — plus the crispest, darkest night skies of the year.
Deodar forests under a dusting of snow, long slow evenings around the bonfire, and skies so dark you’ll see the Milky Way with the naked eye.
October–November is Pahadi House’s “golden window” — clear skies for stargazing, the rare winterline at George Everest, perfect trekking temperatures, and autumn colour across the forests.

Some experiences are included with your stay — bonfire nights, guided nature walks, and pahadi meals are typically part of every booking. Activities like river rafting, Pudina Khet Nature Reserve visits, and multi-day wellness retreats may have additional charges. We’ll be transparent about costs when you enquire.
Most experiences are designed as part of a Pahadi House stay. However, certain activities like river rafting and Pudina Khet walks can be arranged independently. Contact us to discuss.
Absolutely. Our day hikes are gentle, our village walks are flat, our cooking sessions require zero kitchen skill, and our yoga sessions welcome complete beginners. We calibrate every experience to your comfort level.
Most experiences are family-friendly. The George Everest summit trek involves a 2 km forest walk suitable for kids aged 8+. Village walks, cooking sessions, bonfire, and stargazing are suitable for all ages. River rafting has a minimum age of 14 (Grade III–IV stretches).
No. We provide telescopes for stargazing, all ingredients for cooking, and rafting gear is included. Just bring comfortable walking shoes, warm layers, and a water bottle. Detailed packing lists are on each stay page.
We keep experience groups small — typically 4–10 people. This isn’t an assembly line. Every experience is intimate, personal, and paced for the group.
Yes. Whether it’s a private sunrise trek for a couple, a team-building cooking session for your offsite, or a bespoke multi-day itinerary — we love crafting custom experiences. WhatsApp us with your idea.
“We don’t sell activities. We share a way of living.
The trek is not the destination. The summit is not the point.
The point is what happens inside you — between the first step and the last.”
Every Pahadi House experience exists to reconnect you with something the modern world has silenced — the sound of your own breath in a forest, the taste of food cooked with fire and patience, the vast quiet of a Himalayan night.
Tell us what excites you — a sunrise, a river, a recipe, a trail — and we’ll weave it into your perfect mountain stay.
Pahadi House offers curated mountain experiences across three locations in Uttarakhand — George Everest (Mussoorie), Himalayan Ganga Retreat (Rishikesh), and Kanatal. From day hikes through ancient deodar and rhododendron forests to river rafting on the Ganges, stargazing at 7,000 ft, and hands-on pahadi cooking sessions, every experience is guided by local hosts who grew up in the Himalayas.
Our experiences include guided treks to the George Everest summit, nature walks at Pudina Khet Nature Reserve in Hathipaon, sunrise summit walks with panoramic Himalayan views, village walks through terraced pahadi settlements, bonfire and stargazing evenings with telescope observation, and yoga and meditation retreats by the Ganga in Rishikesh.
Unlike commercial activity providers, Pahadi House experiences are intimate, locally guided, and woven into your stay. Groups are kept small (4–10 people), trails are chosen for depth not distance, and every activity is paced to the rhythm of slow, mindful mountain travel.
Whether you’re looking for adventure activities near Mussoorie, rafting in Rishikesh, trekking in Kanatal, or a wellness retreat in the Himalayas, Pahadi House offers authentic, eco-conscious mountain experiences starting from ₹2,000 per person per night with meals and select activities included.
